Family fun at The Gresham this Easter

If you’re looking for a family-friendly staycation this Easter, look no further than The Gresham Aparthotel. With its sumptuous family rooms and central location, The Gresham is the ideal location to take in all the attractions that Leicester has to offer.

If you’re after some family fun during the school holidays, Leicester City Centre is bursting with things to do. Up for some friendly competition? Why not try your hand at ten pin bowling or mini golf at Lane 7? Situated in the old Great Central Railway Station, Lane 7 has been fully refurbished and kitted out with bowling alleys, a mini golf course, pool, a full arcade and more! It’s the perfect place for the whole family to enjoy, and ideal for catching a glimpse of the big match, with its giant screen showing Sky Sports at the weekend.

If you’d prefer something a little more high-energy, why not unleash your inner ninja at Ninja Warrior UK Leicester? This thrilling adventure park, inspired by the hit ITV show, is located at St George’s Retail Park, just a short walk from The Gresham. Both kids and adults can run, jump, climb and swing their way across all manner of obstacles, and attempt to beat the infamous Warped Wall. Have you got what it takes?

What’s more, a visit to Ninja Warrior is just one of several activities that can get you money off when you stay at The Gresham. Simply show your ticket at reception on check-in to receive a 15% discount.

With warm weather on the horizon, what better way to enjoy it than with a trip to the zoo? Leicestershire’s Twycross is the only UK zoo that is home to all four species of great ape, and allows visitors the chance to explore the curious world of the chimpanzee as they’re transported to the jungle and the award-winning Chimpanzee Eden. Sumatran tigers, zebras and penguins are just some of the other animals that are sure to delight visitors young and old.

And that's not all! from Saturday 9th April, Twycross Zoo will also become home to The Gruffalo Discovery Land. The new, four-acre area will bring the characters from Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's much-loved children's book, The Gruffalo, to life.

Leicester is known for its 2,000 years of history, and families can learn about this heritage at a number of museums around the city. From dinosaurs at Leicester Museum on New Walk, to the story of the dynasty, death and discovery of King Richard III at the KRIII Visitor Centre, there really is something for every history buff. Several of these attractions can also grant 15% off your stay at The Gresham. Please see our attractions page for more information.

By the time the Easter holidays come round, the football and rugby seasons will be reaching their thrilling climaxes. Can Leicester Tigers hold on to the lead at the top of the Gallagher Premiership? Will the Foxes finish strongly in the Premier League? Both the King Power Stadium and Mattioli Woods Welford Road are within walking distance of The Gresham, and promise a wonderful day out for the whole family.

When you’re done with all that, what better way to end the day than with a family feast at our luxurious onsite restaurant, The Black Iron Social? The Black Iron has an extensive children’s menu, as well as the best in high-end dining for mum and dad. Treat yourself to a three course meal, accompanied by fine wine or cocktails in the most elegant of surroundings. Bookings at the Black iron Social must be made separately. Visit their website.
